A day in the life of... Rebecca Kinsey, Marketing Account Manager. Quote

Rebecca Kinsey

My Job

As a marketing account manager, I work in a close-knit team, alongside the marketing manager and other account managers, and in close liaison with the design team. My responsibilities include managing a variety of projects for a number of different clients. Projects include web and print design, internal communications and event support to name but a few. The ability to multi-task and a hands-on approach are essential!

My Working Day

There is no average working day for a marketing account manager! What I do on a daily basis is dictated by the projects I’m currently working on, and these can range from media monitoring, to web or print projects, videos, marketing collateral and event support.

Account management is a dynamic role and I get involved with projects right at the beginning of their lifecycle, liaising with clients to scope out and define the project, working with the rest of the team to provide pricing, managing the project through to completion and ensuring the brief is followed, liaising with other teams to ensure content is delivered on time and managing the relationship with the client to ensure they are happy with the project from start to finish.

The single constant element of my job is its diversity, which makes it a great opportunity to gain an ever broader understanding of the finance sector and to develop a wide range of skills. It’s a client-facing role, so good communication abilities are essential, as is a keen interest in clients’ business objectives. Cognito provides scope for improving your sector-specific knowledge through its weekly book group, which is designed to get employees up to speed on various financial topics.
