4 May 2011, London - Cognito, the specialist PR and marketing agency for the financial sector, today announced that, following the success of the first Social Media Day in London, it will join Finextra, Thomson Reuters and Actiance to host a second event in New York on May 18 at Thomson Reuters’ New York Headquarters.
Mr. Coombes will join executives from Citi GTS, Deutsche Bank and Thomson Reuters on a panel discussion about social media in B2B banking, which is scheduled for 11:30 am - 12:30 pm. The panel, which will be moderated by Elizabeth Lumley, Special Projects Editor at Finextra, will discuss banks’ experience implementing social media and some of the ways that companies can measure ROI in the space.
“Social media is the burning issue for all marketing and PR professionals in the financial services sector,” said Tom Coombes, founder and CEO of Cognito. “As the media landscape has been revolutionized by social platforms, so too will the PR and marketing functions.”
At the event, Cognito will also be previewing its social media dashboard that has been developed specifically for the financial services community. The dashboard provides users with a customizable interface that helps them benefit from the vast amount of market and competitive information available in social media channels in a simple, manageable and actionable way.
“As financial services companies of all sizes continue to embrace social media, it is critical that they are properly resourced, have a clear vision of their objectives for the program and what metrics are in place to measure success,” Mr. Coombes added.
