Cognito Lends a Hand to New York Cares Day

This upcoming Saturday, October 13, the Cognito team will trade suits for smocks as we participate in the annual New York Cares Day to benefit the city’s public schools.

New York Cares works with more than 1,200 non-profits, municipal agencies and public schools to provide manpower to help address the city’s serious social issues. New York Cares Day is a one-day event held every fall designed to make city schools a more welcoming environment. This year, 90 school sites in all five boroughs will be transformed through refreshed gardens, organized book shelves and new coats of paint.

The Cognito team will be at PS 169 in southern Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood. We’ll be assisting in painting indoor and outdoor murals, along with shelves and classrooms. This will be the fourth year that Cognito participates in something that is fast becoming an annual fall tradition for our financial public relations firm.

We’re proud to do whatever we can to give back to the community. Our philanthropy committee is active with a number of other causes, including the American Cancer Society’s financial services gala and the Museum of American Finance.

If you’re inspired to join us this Saturday, there is still be time to sign up through the New York Cares Day website. You can also contribute to the organization online through the same link.
