LONDON – October 23rd, 2013 –Cognito, the full-service public relations and marketing agency for the financial services sector, will partner with Ragan Communications in 2014 to support Ragan’s Global Corporate Communicators Conference. The conference, one of the most high profile events in the global corporate communications calendar, will take place on the 27th and 28th of February 2014 and be hosted by SWIFT at its global headquarters in La Hulpe, Belgium.

Cognito will act as the official communications partner for the two-day conference, which will bring together many of the leading corporate communicators from across Europe and America. The first day of the conference will focus on using social media for internal communications while the second day will examine the interaction between social media and PR.

The day one keynote session will be given by Dave Coplin, Chief Envisioning Officer at Microsoft UK. Coplin will discuss ways of using evolving technologies to create a culture of collaboration within organisations and the power of ‘enterprise social’ to act as a catalyst for cultural change.

The internal communications sessions on day one will cover a range of topics including creating a powerful narrative to engage both internal and external audiences; using video within organisations to tell stories that build brand and corporate identity; how brands can become publishers; and how to increase employee engagement and satisfaction to boost the bottom line.

The keynote session on day two will see Mark Ragan, CEO of Ragan Communications; Tom Coombes, CEO of Cognito; and Kim Bratanata, Head of Social and Digital Media at SWIFT, conduct a keynote panel discussion entitled ‘Content marketing: Best practices, big data and the big picture’. The participants will discuss how to create relevant content that lends itself to sharing and the key role that effective use of data can play in this process.

“At workshops, they’re levitating out of their chairs with excitement about brand journalism,” Mark Ragan says. “But they say, ‘How do I do this?’”

The PR topics on day two will include how to use social media to turn customers into mentors and employees into ambassadors; building, managing and defending corporate reputation in the social age; challenges for PR and media relations in a continuously changing media landscape; and creating and maintaining content that sticks around for the long haul on social media.
