London, 3rd April 2014 – Worldwide Business Research (WBR), the world's biggest large-scale conference company, has again chosen Cognito, the global financial communications consultancy, to support and promote its flagship European TradeTech event. This year TradeTech will return to Paris on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th April, after taking place in London for the past four years. Cognito has been engaged to raise awareness of the conference with an integrated social media campaign over various social channels, in addition to driving pan-European media attendance.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Cognito will manage TradeTech’s social engagement and media outreach. In the weeks leading up to the conference, Cognito has been implementing a social strategy to drive awareness of TradeTech across the events social media channels, including Twitter and LinkedIn. Cognito has also been utilising its pan-European press contacts to secure media attendance and build a strong profile around the event. The Cognito account team will be on site throughout the two-day event to manage the press room.

TradeTech is one of the largest equities and trading technology events in the world, and is dedicated to facilitating high-level discussions around the major challenges and regulatory changes that delegates are facing. A number of high-profile regulators are scheduled to speak at this year’s event, including Konstantinos Botopoulos, Chairman MISC Committee, Member of The Management Board, ESMA; María Teresa Fábregas Fernández, Head of Unit, DG MARKT.G.3 "Securities Markets"; and Philippe Guillot, Markets Executive Director, AMF.

Gabriela Cogorno, Head of Digital, Marketing and People Development at WBR says: “With a multitude of regulations currently coming into force, this event gives buy and sell side professionals the chance to hear from industry experts about the upcoming challenges they can expect to face. We have chosen to extend our relationship with Cognito because of their distinctive approach to integrated media and digital communications. As this year’s event is returning to Paris, it is vital that our communications agency has experience working with the media across Europe. Cognito was therefore the clear choice.”

“We are delighted to be supporting TradeTech for its returns to Paris,” added Andrew Marshall, Managing Director, EMEA at Cognito. “TradeTech has a fantastic agenda this year and a great line-up of speakers from across the European regulatory spectrum. The delegates will benefit from a wide variety of panel discussions on key industry topics, in particular guidance around regulations such as MiFID II and the financial transaction tax.”
