Bloomberg Tradebook Charity Day
Celebrities on the phone, for a good cause. Or, better, for multiple good causes.
On Thursday 30th October, in three cities across the globe, the Bloomberg Tradebook Charity Day was held at the company’s headquarters in New York, London and for the first time, Hong Kong.
Royalty, movie and TV celebrities, and sport stars joined Bloomberg Tradebook fancy-dressed employees in trading activities to raise money for more 13 charities. In London, the trading floor was particularly animated by Princess Beatrice, the “Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner and Channel 4 presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy among many others.
In New York, the 731 Lexington Avenue office opened its doors to several stars, including former NY Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera and Joe Torre, former NY Jets linebacker Bart Scott and top chef host Padma Lakshmi.
“The Bloomberg Tradebook team is extremely honored to welcome this year’s charities and their ambassadors for our third-annual Charity Day,” said Ray Tierney, President and CEO of Bloomberg Tradebook. “Charity Day gives us a great opportunity to raise awareness and funding for a diverse set of worthy causes. In our first two years, we raised $1.5 million for more than a dozen charities. By expanding Charity Day to London last year, and now Hong Kong, we are strengthening our ongoing commitment to supporting charitable organizations around the world that do so much for those in need.”
Bloomberg Tradebook's global charity day raised $1.2 million in commissions for donation to the participating children’s charities.
