So much is changing in communications that it can seem overwhelming. Simply understanding the workings and protocols of new media channels requires real application and time. The problem of keeping prominent and relevant to your communities is compounded by the fact that there is an enormous amount of traffic, even in niche sectors.

It's good to talk... and listen!

We have two ears and one mouth. Use them in that order! So say the teachers of sales and business to students all over the world. In our opinion, this couldn't be more appropriate advice for those embarking on a social media program. Companies are expected to be better communicators these days. The tools are there for listening and incorporating feedback and they should be embraced. It requires new ways of working, but the benefits are huge. Cognito is working in social media across our organization and supporting Finextra and SWIFT's panel discussion at Sibos 2010.
