PR Account Manager – New York

We are looking for an account manager to join our New York team. As an account manager at Cognito your role is to set into motion the unique ideas your team has developed to solve your client's communications problems. You set the agenda for your clients, overseeing the development of quarterly plans, monthly scopes of work and a plan on a page for client projects. The plans are as unique as your clients, and no one knows those clients better than you. You are meeting with them regularly, speaking to them often and tell them the answer to the questions they haven't even asked yet.

As a leader in the office, you will help set the agenda and tone for the office. Your feedback and ideas help to shape the way we work with clients and staff alike. You’ll be looked to, to mentor junior employees and provide guidance and support to members of your team.

We provide both in-house and external training opportunities to brush off some of those rarely used and even undiscovered skills but it’s up to you to take advantage of this opportunity.
Each day at Cognito is a little different, one day you may be working on anything from a Big 4 consulting firm, to an asset manager to incubating technology companies; one thing that will always remain the same is our effort to approach each client with a unique solution.

Technical Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• At least four years of communications experience
• Must demonstrate strong understanding of financial services
• Previous managerial skills a must
• Ability to manage a team
• Demonstrate understanding of creating and executing communication strategies
• Must have strong writing and verbal communication skills
• Creative and energetic personality
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite
