PR AND MARKETING GRADUATE PROGRAMME OVERVIEW 

Cognito’s Graduate Programme is a full-time, six-month program, starting in the Summer of 2025. It will allow successful candidates to be fully immersed into day-to-day agency life and the immediate opportunity to work on clients focused in the financial services, technology, climate transition and professional services industries.

​The programme is designed to give graduates an educational, immersive and fun introduction to public relations, marketing, digital campaigns, social media and brand work at Cognito. There is the possibility of securing a permanent, full-time role with the company after completing the internship. Cognito works with some of the most interesting and exciting brands in the financial services industry, with the office located in the heart of the City, giving graduates plenty of opportunity to experience City life. 

Along with assisting in the daily activities for clients, participants will receive regular training relevant to the work we do and immediately get involved on meaningful projects where they can put what they learn to use. The graduate will learn the principles and skillsets relating to our breadth of services including media relations, digital and social media, digital-marketing, SEO, events, UX/UI design and more. The graduate will have a dedicated manager who will act as a point person, providing one-on-one guidance, overseeing the graduate’s work and development and facilitating access to a range of existing clients and projects. 

The role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to quickly get involved in client work. Cognito strongly believes in potential and those that show success quickly will be given more opportunities to grow and learn. Whilst we provide training for candidates, there is also plenty of on-the-job learning opportunities.

​​RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Participate in daily/weekly brainstorms, including the weekly internal team news sharing discussion. 
  • ​Read and identify media clips from clipping services and online resources (Google, media databases). 
  • Research, develop and maintain media, events and awards lists.
  • Conduct and compile industry and client specific research.
  • Monitor and create content for company and client social media channels.
  • Attend client meetings and calls, as requested.
  • ​Assist with event planning and coordination.
  • Help with media coverage reports and digital strategy and campaign analytics reports.
  • Receive training in the following tools: Brandwatch, Signal, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, WordPress, LinkedIn, SEO platforms, marketing automation platforms, and Roxhill etc – as well as core PR and digital communications skills.
  • Help develop and execute digital marketing strategies that align with clients’ business objectives and target audience.
  • Conduct SEO, SEM, competitor analysis, market trends and consumer insight audits to identify opportunities for client growth and new business.
  • Help create and manage social media campaigns across multiple platforms, including LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • Help project manage the production of creative and digital assets and content, such as UX/UI design, website development, social media visual assets and online and offline marketing visual assets.
  • Stay up to date with sector and industry marketing trends, tools and techniques to make recommendations for improvement for the company and clients.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, presentations and pitches through data and market analysis.
