Simon Evans
Head of Financial Services / United Kingdom
Simon has more than 20 years of experience working in communications consulting, journalism and banking.
He joins from MHP Group, where he was a Managing Director in the firm’s Capital Markets and Corporate Advisory division. Simon supported clients primarily in the financial services sector leading on reputation management strategies, investor relations programmes, insight development and crisis management.
Before MHP Simon led Portland Communications financial communications team in London. He is a former Director at Kekst CNC and Head of Business Media at Weber Shandwick.
Prior to moving into consultancy Simon was an award-winning financial journalist specialising in the financial services industry. He was Deputy Business Editor at the Independent on Sunday newspaper and enjoyed senior editorial roles at City AM, Citywire and Euromoney.
He began his career in investment banking working in equity finance and prime brokerage.
He holds a BSc in Industrial Economics from the University of Warwick.
