Position Overview
As a Senior Account Manager, you will plan, deliver and optimize integrated PR and communications campaigns for key client accounts. You will manage client relationships, provide counsel, and drive business results while coordinating account teams. This role requires advanced client relationship management, team coordination, and business development skills.
We are seeking a senior account manager with experience in one or both of the following areas:
- Solid grounding in capital markets and institutional finance – comfortable navigating conversations around trading infrastructure, asset management, or investment workflows, and translating these into compelling communications.
- Experience in ESG, sustainable finance, carbon markets, and climate transition themes within a financial context. Good working knowledge of sustainable finance and climate transition, including ESG integration across asset classes, green and transition finance instruments, and the evolving regulatory landscape shaping institutional disclosure and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Campaign Enhancement: Refine and optimize communications plans to align with client business objectives, recommending improvements and adjustments based on insights and results.
- Client Relationship Management: Own and nurture senior-level client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and ensuring exceptional service delivery across all accounts.
- Campaign Development: Create and deliver effective, integrated communications programs that deliver measurable results across multiple channels and platforms.
- Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate account teams, including Account Managers and Account Executives, providing guidance and mentorship and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work.
- Business Growth: Identify and secure organic growth opportunities within existing accounts, proactively introducing additional services and expanding client engagements.
- Budget Oversight: Manage complex project budgets and resource allocation across multiple accounts, ensuring profitability while maintaining excellent client service.
- Media Strategy: Develop sophisticated media relations strategies, cultivate senior journalist relationships, and secure high-value coverage in top-tier publications.
- Content Development: Manage and take responsibility for the approval process with clients for all materials drafted. Ensure high standards across all content creation, including press releases, thought leadership pieces, media pitches, and social media content.
- Crisis Management: Monitor potential PR issues and emerging crises across media channels. Provide support to the team during critical situations, including drafting of relevant materials.
- New Business Development: Contribute significantly to new business development, participating in pitch presentations and proposal development.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality standards across all deliverables, ensuring consistency and excellence in all client work.
Skills and Experience
- Expertise in developing, optimizing, and executing campaigns and content across paid, earned, owned, and social channels, maintaining a high standard for both strategy and execution.
- Proven ability to identify and grow organic opportunities within existing client accounts and contribute to new business proposals and pitches.
- Advanced project and budget management skills; adept at juggling multiple deadlines, allocating resources, and ensuring quality and profitability across projects.
- Demonstrated leadership in coordinating account teams, mentoring junior talent, and supporting team growth while upholding quality and consistency in client work.
- Strong media relations capability, maintaining a growing network of journalist and industry contacts and securing impactful media coverage for clients.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with an established ability to review and present client-facing content that is accurate, persuasive, and tailored for audience needs.
- Experience supporting clients and teams during issues or potential crises—able to quickly draft and review response materials and collaborate closely with account directors or senior leadership for more complex or high-stakes scenarios.
- Consistent record of solving challenges creatively and practically, with the initiative to drive campaign improvements and innovative client solutions.
- High level of commercial awareness and understanding of business metrics, account profitability, and agency objectives.
